This piece is for anyone, ill or not. You can feel super healthy and still feel that extra notch up after implementing these simple hacks into your day. Not all self-healing and home care need to consist of hour-long rituals where we immerse ourselves in our own love and push away any of the day's negative feelings. This in fact does the opposite for us. Instead of healing, we are stealing precious time and putting it into useless denial. Here’s how to upgrade your health at home.

Start with something as simple as a cute water bottle. Buy a water bottle that MAKES you want to drink out of it. Get some hydration motivation! Once you have that delicious looking bottle in your hand, put water in and add some lemon or orange to help give you not only hydration, but also gives you doses of vitamin C throughout the day! This will help with digestion, dehydration, dryness, skin blemishes, headaches and more.
A great habit to kick into your night time routine is a quick ten minute, legs up on the wall, lymphatic drainage technique. As I’ve been learning about this, I have found that it can improve circulation, muscle tension, and allows you a minute to do some deep breathing exercises. Take this personal time of only 10 minutes to do some deep breathing and then think back on your day and what you enjoyed in the day. What were you grateful for? What goals did you achieve? How did that make you feel? Good, right? Of course! Recognizing things that we enjoy in our day, can help us to make the effort to implement them again. So take 10 min to drain, breathe and take in your day…they can go by so fast.
Another great shift to make in your day, is some time for doing something that you love, that doesn’t consist of you staring at your phone. Try a podcast, a book, or a craft for example. This gives you personal time, and much needed brain relaxation time. Enjoy something, learn, feel free from work, and the news, and everything that bombards us in the day. Get away and play.
These are just a few ways that you can improve your mental and physical health. Habit stacking (attaching one habit onto another) is a great way to implement new and helpful daily rituals for your health. Upgrade your life by treating yourself right. Even if only for 15 minutes out of the whole day.
